This summer, staff and students at Cramlington Learning Village are coming together to raise money for Jessica Sarcoma Awareness, our school charity, in memory of former student Jessica Robson.

Jess was an inspirational member of our school community. Diagnosed with alveolar sarcoma at just 14 years old, she faced years of treatment with incredible courage, determination and resilience. Sadly, Jess passed away in May 2014 at the age of 18, but her legacy continues through the work of Jessica Sarcoma Awareness and Jess’s Dream – a respite lodge in West Northumberland where families affected by cancer can create precious memories together.

To honour Jess and support this important cause, we will be holding two fundraising events:

🏃 Student Charity Run – 8th July

Students will take part in a charity run throughout the school day as part of our final Wellbeing Day of the year.

🏃‍♀️ Great North Run 2026

15 CLV team runners will be taking in the Great North Run:

Jess Robinson, Holly MacKenley, Martin Smith, Sara Paxton, Dave Bell, Chris Horner, Alice Moffat, Sam Donovan, Kieran Timbey, Grace Meehan (Phil), Jack Moody, Ian Herron, Zoe Taylor, Joe Denny and Tom Bird.

Every donation will help Jessica Sarcoma Awareness continue supporting families affected by cancer and ensure Jess’s inspirational spirit lives on. Thank you for your support.
