CMB Engineering Take On The Carten100
On Saturday 9th May, a team of 11 riders made up of CMB employees and members of our supply chain will take on the CARTEN100, cycling 100 miles from Cardiff to Tenby, to raise money for LATCH, an incredible Welsh charity that provides vital emotional, practical and financial support for children affected by cancer and their families.
CMB Engineering is a Cardiff-based mechanical contractor employing around 200 staff, many of whom have young families of their own. LATCH is based at the Children’s Hospital for Wales in Cardiff, supporting families during some of the most difficult times imaginable. As a local company, we want to do what we can to support children and families in our own community.
Sadly, cancer has touched many of us in different ways, affecting members of our team as well as loved ones, family members and close friends. For many of us with young families, it is impossible to imagine the pain these families are going through, which makes supporting this cause feel especially close to home.
The ride will begin at the iconic Cardiff City Hall, where CMB is currently delivering the full mechanical and electrical package, before riders make their way across South Wales to the finish line in Tudor Square, Tenby.
Our team is made up of riders of mixed cycling abilities, bringing together colleagues and industry partners for a shared challenge. Entries for the ride have been kindly sponsored by CMB, while SAM Drylining have generously sponsored the team jerseys, with another supplier supporting the printing.
The CARTEN100 is one of Wales’ most recognised cycling challenges & our team is hoping to raise as much money as possible for this remarkable charity.
We’ll be sharing training updates and photos in the run-up to the event, so please follow along and support the team if you can.
