If you know Abbie well enough, you'll know both Coast to Coast and St Giles Hospice are very close to her heart. Abbie's Dad, Tim, passed away in 2009 from lung cancer and the support the family received from St Giles during his illness and after he passed was immeasurable. Tim had often talked about wanting to walk the Coast to Coast trail, a 192 mile hike that starts at St. Bees and ends at Robin Hood's Bay. Tim often took Abbie along the start of the hike on many family holidays up to the Lake District, with St. Bees being one of the family's favourite beaches. Unfortunately, having passed at only 43, Tim never got the chance to complete the hike.

Abbie and Cara are planning to complete the Coast to Coast trail over 16 days in April 2025 in memory of Abbie's Dad, Tim, and everyone they know who has battled or lost their lives to cancer.
