Story
Six years ago, both my dad and I were diagnosed with prostate cancer. Thankfully, after treatment, I am still in remission and continue to have annual check-ups. Sadly, my dad wasn’t as fortunate, and he lost his fight with the disease three years ago.
When we received our diagnoses, I took up cycling as a way of coping with the challenges that lay ahead. Since then, I have taken part in Prostate Cancer UK’s Cycle the Month every year, raising funds and awareness while setting myself bigger cycling challenges along the way.
This year, I wanted to push myself even further. Alongside fellow riders from Selby Cycling Club, I will be cycling coast to coast across Britain on the Way of the Roses route between 27th and 29th June.
Every mile I ride is in memory of my dad and in support of everyone affected by prostate cancer. The money raised will help Prostate Cancer UK fund vital research, support services, and awareness campaigns to help save lives.
For me, this isn’t just a cycling challenge, it’s a chance to honour my dad’s memory and help create a future where more families get the outcome that I was fortunate enough to have.
If you’re able to support me, no matter how small the donation, I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you for helping make a difference.
