Story
This October, a team from Cobden House Chambers will be taking on the Manchester Half Marathon in support of Milly’s Smiles, a children’s cancer charity that provides vital support to families whose lives have been turned upside down by childhood cancer.
This cause is very close to us in Chambers. In April this year, our colleague Chloe Murray’s three-year-old son, Freddie, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
Since then, Freddie has shown extraordinary bravery as he faces treatments and hospital stays that no child should ever have to endure. Inspired by his courage, and to stand in solidarity with Freddie and all children living with cancer, our Chambers team will be running the Manchester Half Marathon. Chloe’s husband, Joe, will also be joining us on race day, making this a true team effort.
Milly’s Smiles, founded in memory of Milly, supports families affected by childhood cancer in both practical and emotional ways. The charity provides bags to families whose children have just been diagnosed with cancer, containing everything they need during the most difficult of times whilst living in the hospital and making things that little bit more comfortable.
We would be so grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to Milly's Smiles, enabling them to continue their invaluable work for families like Chloe and Joe’s, and many others across the UK.
Please consider sponsoring our Manchester Half Marathon team and sharing this page within your networks. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your generosity and support. 💛
