Story
This year for my Grandads Memorial Walk I am taking on for the 1st time the North Downs 50km on August 1st to raise as much money for Betsie who is currently being treated for Leukaemia.
Betsie found out on the 31st July 2025, when she was only just 3 years old and her mum and dad honestly don’t know where they would be without Abby’s Heroes. Since their world was turned upside down, they’ve been there for them with endless practical help, kindness, and emotional support when they have needed it most.
Knowing Betsie is surrounded by people who genuinely care has meant more than they can ever put into words. In some of our hardest moments, Abby’s Heroes have brought them comfort, strength, and hope to their family, and they will always be grateful for everything they do.
Not only will I be walking for Betsie on the North Downs Ultra but during July the walking group Coat on Coat Off Wellbeing Walks will be putting all donations to this incredible charity
The aim of the charity is to help and support children and their families, including bereaved families, who come under the care of the Piam Brown and the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) wards at Southampton General Hospital.
They offer financial and practical help as well as the opportunity to make lasting memories for the children and their families.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Any donations you are able to make no matter how small will make such a difference and continue to help them provide this vital support to families like Betsies.
