Welcome to LoungeAid 2026 at Cofio Lounge!
Not familiar with LoungeAid? It’s our annual fundraising month! Our team spends the entire month of June doing all kinds of crazy and fun events to raise money and awareness for a local cause. That being said, we are proudly supporting CarmDAS this June!
What is CarmDAS?
CarmDAS is a local charity supporting adults and children affected by domestic abuse across Carmarthenshire. They provide free, confidential, trauma-informed support, from crisis through to recovery.y
Did you know 2.3 million people (England and Wales) experienced domestic abuse in the last year?
Last year, CarmDAS supported 772 adults and 441 children in our local community. Without services like these in our town, so many people would have nowhere to turn for support. They are a source of safety for so many individuals. We want to take it into our own hands, as a community, to come together and show our support and gratitude to them!
Community support helps CarmDAS to be there when someone reaches out, often for the first time. It allows them to provide free, specialist support to adults and children, helping people stay safe and begin to rebuild their lives.
What is domestic abuse?
Domestic abuse is any form of abuse in a relationship where one person controls, harms or frightens another.
It isn’t always physical. It is often a pattern of behaviour used to control.
- Being stopped from seeing friends, family or support
- Being put down or made to feel not good enough
- Feeling like you are walking on eggshells to avoid things getting worse
