Glasgow Kiltwalk 2024 · 28 April 2024 ·

The Dementia Arts Trust run art classes for those affected by dementia and offer post diagnostic signposted support through their Hub. Our classes enable those affected by dementia to focus on what can still be achieved. These help to provide social inclusion and engagement, boosting self- esteem.

Story

The team at Cogeo are taking part in the Kiltwalk's MIGHTY STRIDE (23 miles!!) on 28th April 2024. We will walk from Glasgow's iconic Glasgow Green and finish in the idyllic surroundings of Balloch, Loch Lomond.

The Kiltwalk is Scotland's largest mass participation walking event with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016.

We are walking to raise funds for the Dementia Arts Trust, a registered Scottish Charity which was set up in 2015.

DAT provide award winning, highly structured art classes predominately into care homes to people living with dementia. They currently operate in the West Coast of Scotland and their partnership with St. Andrews University and the UK's leading dementia professor, Dr Maggie Ellis, validates their theory and methods behind their art lessons for learning when living with dementia.

Fundraising is vital for DAT to continue to offer and expand these free classes.
