On Friday 13 November 2026, a team from OPI will once again lace up their boots and join colleagues from across the UK business products industry for the Climb of Life (COL) in the stunning – and often unforgiving – mountains of the English Lake District.

The event is not for the faint-hearted – the mountains are high, the weather is harsh, and the going can be tough. This short video from a previous climb will give you a taste of what we face each year: Watch here.

This year marks 20 years of COL supporting The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Around 120 trekkers will tackle 20 peaks, including Helvellyn, Great Gable, Fairfield, Bowfell and Whiteside, raising vital funds for the ICR’s work to discover new cancer treatments.

For 17 years, OPI has proudly supported this event. Along the way, we have sadly lost two much-loved colleagues to cancer, and their memory continues to inspire every step we take. We climb for them, and for everyone whose lives have been touched by this devastating disease.

Since 2006, COL has raised more than £1.7 million for the ICR. Its scientists have discovered 21 drug candidates and taken 13 into clinical trials – more than any other academic research institution in the world. Every contribution helps that work continue.
