Harry’s Colchester Fit-A-Thon for Active Essex
26 fitness venues • 1 city • 13 hours • 1 big goal — to get Colchester moving!
Hi, I’m Harry Jeffery, I’m 13 years old and from Colchester. I’m proud to represent Great Britain in Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) and to be an ambassador for Active Essex, an organisation that’s all about helping people of all ages get active, feel confident, and live healthier lives.
On Saturday, 1st November, I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet, a 13-hour Colchester Fit-A-Thon, visiting 26 fitness venues around the city in a single day.
I’ll be starting at 6am on an obstacle course in Heckfordbridge by Colchester Zoo and finishing around 8pm, taking on short challenges at each stop, from boot camps, climbing, and swimming, to football, yoga, MMA, and MUCH more.
This isn’t about racing or records; it’s about bringing people together.
I wanted to do something that celebrates Colchester’s amazing fitness community and shows how fun and welcoming being active can be. I’m hoping this challenge inspires more young people to find something they love doing , whether that’s running, dancing, swimming, or just getting outside with your mates.
All money raised will go directly to Active Essex, to support their programmes that help young people and families get active, remove barriers to participation, and create more opportunities for everyone to enjoy fitness and wellbeing in our community.
Every pound will make a real difference, helping fund local projects, inclusive sports sessions, and community activities across Essex.
Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to me and to everyone involved in this challenge. Together, let’s show what Colchester can do when we all move for a great cause 💪
