Running a marathon is something I have often contemplated, but that's as far as it got until I was invited by my colleagues at Gas Transmission & Metering to run for Barnardo's in the London 2024 event.

Initially I thought 'what have I done?' shortly followed by the realisation that I had secured a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in the best marathon event on the planet, and in doing so raise as much as I can for Barnardo's.

All donations towards my target will help spur me on with training, which is exactly what I will be needing through the British winter weather !
