Teen Challenge is one of the world's leading drug rehabilitation centres with a very high success rate for helping people become free from drugs and alcohol. Teen Challenge London is a 18-month, faith-based, residential drug rehabilitation programme located in East London for men aged 18-60.

Story

I am both honored and compelled to share the vision behind the idea of Harry’s Recovery Kitchen, a concept dedicated to the hope of the lost, and the cherished memory of my beloved grandson Harry, Tragically taken from us at just six months old when the car he was travelling in was involved in a horrific accident the teenage driver of the car has since pled guilty to a charge of death by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit. Harry’s legacy lives on through our mission. We are committed to providing hope and healing to young individuals caught in the destructive cycle of addiction. Harry's Recovery Kitchen is designed to be a sanctuary where we empower young lives by equipping them with essential bakery techniques alongside vital life skills that promote independence and success free from the clutches of drugs and alcohol. Our approach emphasizes compassion, understanding, and community, creating a nurturing environment that inspires growth, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose. Together, we will honor Harry’s memory by dedicating ourselves to this transformative journey, fostering resilience and reshaping lives one loaf at a time. Harrys recovery Kitchen will be used not only as a training kitchen for the guys on the Teen Challenge program but will also sell the produce of which all of the proceeds will go towards helping fund our rehabilitation center at Drayon Hall and ultimately helping to save lives ruined by drugs and alcahol.

In order to raise funds for this kitchen, myself and the one and only Tommy Tonner both graduates of the Teen challenge program after battling with our own demons at one time, are going to attempt to climb "Hvannadalshnukur" (Hvanndals-hnuker) dont worry i cant say it either! its a live volcano and Icelands highest peak, this feat is not for the faint hearted the volcano sitting at 6,952ft is one and a half times the size of Ben Nevis and has extremely unpredictable weather and common white outs with temperatures that drop to -25 in some parts, (yes were camping!!) and will involve crossing "Vatnajokull" a crevasse littered glacier en route to the summit of the mountain, we will attempt this wild venture wearing Scottish kilts in honor of Harrys Scottish heritage and his only holiday though Glencoe and to the foot of Ben Nevis when he was 4 month old. All the money we raise from this will go towards the very expensive purpose built kitchen we plan to build at the Drayton hall Teen Challenge rehabilitation center in Norwich.

Thankyou for your support.
