We believe that prevention of homelessness is the best cure. We work tirelessly to keep people in their homes and help them with their housing problems. We believe that everyone should have a home.

Story

B&Q are Walking For Home this Winter, taking steps to fight homelessness.

Colleagues across B&Q stores and head office are completing, walks, treadmill, distance and step challenges – all to raise vital funds for Shelter and Shelter's partner charities.

B&Q have been partnered with Shelter & their partner charity Housing Rights in Northern Ireland since 2017. We share the belief that everyone should have a place they call home. Over the course of our partnership, B&Q have raised more than £5 million for Shelter & their partner charities, allowing us to provide services for over 100,000 people.

Over 5,106 children in Northern Ireland and 151,000 in England are homeless and will spend this Christmas in temporary accommodation. Please could I ask you to watch the two short 1 min films to raise your awareness on the impact of homelessness. Just click on the links to watch on YouTube.

If anyone could spare a £ or ££ it would be greatly appreciated and B&Q will match any donation to my 10k challenge up to £1k. All money for my walk including matched donations raised will stay in NI.
