I'm running the London Landmarks half-marathon in April to raise money for theMOVEMENT charity, which provides exercise for disadvantaged women. Two particular reasons for this choice - I've a personal connection, as the charity was set up by my daughter-in-law, the wonderful Fiona Roberts, and secondly as someone who feels the benefit of regular exercise I know the importance of ensuring that as many people as possible have access to it. Exercise is a fundamental human right and has a vast number of benefits. For women who have experienced multiple disadvantages, however, there are many barriers to exercise, including safety, lack of finances, confidence and the extensive impact of trauma. theMOVEMENT aims to break down these barriers and enable every woman the freedom to exercise.
