Story
Prostate cancer is not one disease, it ranges from variants which may never cause harm to aggressive forms that are life threatening. Despite the NHS having some of the best practices in place regarding diagnosis, unfortunately when it comes to treatment a lot of patients with 'medium risk' prostate cancer are being 'overtreated', leaving many men with unnecessary life debilitating side effects.
'Prost8' charity are proactively addressing this issue by providing equipped 'treatment suites' to NHS trusts to allow suitable 'medium risk' patients to be treated by 'focal' methods (just the cancer + 'margin') hence massively reducing the risk of side effects.
I am in this category. I am one of the 12,000 men per year. https://www.prost8.org.uk/
Please support me in this 'Prost8' sponsored bike ride on the 6th July 2025 so more men can benefit from this treatment across the UK. - Colin
