In loving memory of Colin Lock – A walk to remember

Stadium Of Light to St. James' Park · 20 July 2025
Thank you for supporting this special fundraising walk in loving memory of Colin Lock, who bravely battled cancer for over a dozen years.
Colin was more than a photographer. He was the heart and soul of women’s football in the North East—capturing moments long before the media paid attention. His dedication helped bring recognition to the game, and his lens preserved memories we’ll cherish forever.
Colin wasn’t just behind the camera—he was Newcastle United through and through. He spoke with passion about the squad, not just as players, but as people. He championed their rise through the leagues and connected with fans everywhere, always ready with a joke or a kind word. He loved people, and he loved life.
For years, Colin volunteered his time without ever asking for a penny. It was never about money—it was about the joy of seeing his photos published, and the thrill of capturing moments from Druid Park to St. James’ Park. That was his buzz.
Colin also gave his time to Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, and grassroots football across the region. That’s why we’re calling on supporters of all clubs to join us in this unique event.
Cancer affects more people every year, and every person deserves the best support. That’s why we’re walking for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to Colin's heart, who do whatever it takes to help people living with cancer today—and to transform care for tomorrow.
Join us on Sunday, 20th July at 10am, starting at the Stadium of Light and walking to St. James’ Park—a journey of around four hours. Whether you walk with us, see us off in Sunderland, or welcome us in Newcastle, your support means the world.
Colin and his family will be proud of every single one of you.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. Your donation goes directly to Macmillan and helps make a real difference.
Let’s walk together. Let’s remember Colin. Let’s support those who need it most.
