At the start of January 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I received all of my treatments and clinical appointments (other than surgery) at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, and I am indescribably grateful for the kindness, compassion, support and love that I received from the staff and volunteers there. To celebrate feeling more "myself" after recovering from Bilateral Mastectomy and Immediate DIEP-flap reconstruction, I decided to challenge myself to get back to fitness and take joy and pride in my healed body by taking part in my first ever 10k run!
