Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2024 · 15 September 2024 ·

Leuchie House is a unique place where people with MS, Parkinson's & other long term conditions can have a respite break - a vital lifeline away from the difficulties of living with their condition. With tailor-made trips, activities & care we support them to have a real break away from the everyday.

Story

Today, in Scotland, over 1 million people are living with a neurological condition and the number of unpaid carers has risen to 1.1 million. 1 in 5 of these carers have not had a single day’s break in over 5 years and they are at breaking point.

That’s where Leuchie steps in. We are dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with a neurological condition such as MS, MND, Parkinson’s and stroke through short respite breaks and outreach services. We fill the gaps left by an already overstretched health & social care service, by providing essential respite breaks for carers, improving their mental health and wellbeing and helping to keep depression and loneliness from developing.

For some families, Leuchie is a lifeline.

So myself and Emma-Jayne (otherwise known as Gandolf and Frodo) are embarking on the Kiltwalk quest across Middle-Edinburgh to raise vital funds for Leuchie.

We are incredibly grateful for any donations.
