This year College West has chosen to support the charity Saheliya. Saheliya is a specialist mental health and well-being support organisation for black, minority ethnic, asylum seeker, refugee and migrant women and girls in the Edinburgh and Glasgow area. As a girls boarding house and considering the current geopolitical climate we feel this issue is more pressing than ever, and want to help in this continuing crisis to provide all women with the opportunities and support they deserve which we too often take for granted ourselves. Some members of our house have had the privilege of working with Saheliya in the past and have witnessed first hand the vital work that they carry out and know how much of a difference our contribution could make, which is why we felt so strongly about supporting them.

On Sunday 23rd March Fettes will be hosting it's annual charity runs and our whole house will be running to raise support and awareness of Saheliya and their invaluable work supporting women across our community who have been faced with challenges we could not imagine.
