Hellooo, thank you for taking the time to learn more about my story.
I am taking part in the Big Half Marathon on 7 September 2025, running 13.1 miles across London!! I am really excited, especially as this is my first time running this event! I have chosen to run for a charity close to my heart, Age UK East London.
During 2023-24, 23,361 older people relied on services provided by Age UK East London. Their services are spread across four East London hospitals, providing support in their homes, community centres, and over the phone. So they can live happier and healthier lives.
Services also include help with providing a handy person, befriending, and connecting communities. Advisory services helped to increase income of older people, as a combined total of £3,921,410.
There were 3,802 older people that were supported at home post hospital. And, lunch club was attended by 1,126 people.
Donations of any size will be gratefully appreciated. And every donation made, will contribute towards enhancing the lives of older people. Some of which are lonely, isolated, house bound, and do not have family or friends.
Age UK East London have been a blessing for my mum and our family. They have provided carers to support and help rehabilitate my mum on the road of recovery, after being discharged from hospital.
These services have been pivotal to my mum’s recovery. She has been in poor health for years, and has been hospitalised many times, which has been stressful and worrying for the family!
The carers home support has been a tremendous help for the family. And, with some of us being her carers, we do not know what we would have done without them!
