Story
This year, I have decided to take on the challenge of the Glasgow Kiltwalk! All to raise funds for two fantastic charities close to my heart: GLOC (Glasgow Light Opera Club) and Rainbow Valley.
I’m often asked why GLOC is considered a charity, given that it’s an amateur theatre club. But to me, and to so many others, it’s so much more than that. This club is a lifeline, a community, and a source of joy. It’s my escape from the challenges of life, a space where I can spend time with some of my closest friends while doing something I am truly passionate about.
Being part of GLOC has had an immeasurable impact on my mental health, providing a creative outlet and a sense of belonging that’s difficult to find elsewhere. For those of us who are involved, it’s not “just” a theatre club – it’s a sanctuary, a support network, and a chance to grow both personally and creatively. We are a family ❤️
That’s why the funding we receive is so vital. These funds help us keep the club running and allow us to continue staging our fabulous productions. It ensures that GLOC can remain a welcoming and inspiring space for old and new members.
Why Rainbow Valley?
Rainbow Valley is GLOCS chosen charity for this year’s production of Rock of Ages. They do life-changing work, supporting those affected by cancer through holistic therapies, education, and empowerment. Their mission means so much to me, and I’m thrilled that all money raised by GLOC this year will be split equally between Rainbow Valley and supporting the work we do at GLOC. This charity helped me so much during my own journey with Cancer and I am honoured to be part of the Rainbow Valley Family 🌈
If you can, please consider sponsoring me no matter how big or small – every donation goes a long way to make a difference!
Thank you in advance for your support 🤩
