At the end of May, the Summit for the School team will be taking on the National Three Peak Challenge in order to raise funds for Friends of John Blow School and Collingham and District Pre-School, both based in Collingham, Nottinghamshire.

The National Three Peak Challenge involves climbing the highest mountain in each of the three countries of Scotland, England and Wales plus travelling between them, all in 24 hours.

Our team of past or present locals, some who attended the schools as children, some who have children at the schools, and for some of us both of the above, consists of 9 hikers, along with 2 drivers who will share the minibus driving between them.

The challenge will begin in Scotland at 7am on Saturday 30th May 2026 and after climbing Ben Nevis (1345m), Scafell Pike (978m) and then Snowdon a.k.a Yr Wyddfa (1085m), we will hopefully finish no more than 24 hours later on the morning of Sunday 31st.

We have decided to fundraise for Friends of John Blow School and Collingham and District Pre-School.

Friends of John Blow School have been an integral part of the village school community for many years, during which time they have raised funds for improving equipment and resources to enhance the local children’s education and the facilities in school in general. Funds raised by the charity go towards buying items ranging from computer equipment and play equipment to library books and contributions towards educational school trips.

Collingham Pre-School have just moved venues and are now situated on the John Blow Primary School site. They are not a registered charity but FOJBS will make a donation towards them out of the funds we raise.
