3 hour Combat-a-thon · 22 March 2025

The Fortus Foundation supports small, local Yorkshire-based charities, community groups & schools with grants for specific impactful projects. Using our #GoGiveOne campaign we encourage connected relationships between businesses & charitable organisations to have a broader impact on our communities.

Story

On the 22 March myself and 2 other Combat instructors will be coming together to host a 3 hour Combat-a-thon, 3hours of non stop, back to back Les Mills Body Combat to raise awareness and funds for 2 local cancer charities in association with the Fortus Foundation.

In October 2024, our family received the devastating news that my dad has terminal cancer. A complete shock, as to any onlooker he looks completely fit and healthy, still attending the gym, walking 7 miles into York each week, going fishing, running around after his grandchildren and being the fun positive man I have always known him to be, but inside his body is fighting an enormous battle. This is a story that too many families face, not just ours.

My dad has always been such a huge inspiration to me. He always has a positive attitude towards everything he does and this journey for him is no different. He's putting up a fight! and so are WE! Born out of dads fighting spirit the Combat-a-thon is 3 hours of people coming together to push themselves to the limit raising money with every single punch and kick for the wonderful charities in our community that support people and their families fighting this disease.

Please come along and support the event, (details on the poster attached). You don't need to be a certified ninja to attend, just bring your best fighting attitude and determination to complete 1, 2 or all 3 hours and have some fun along the way.

If you are unable to attend or its simply not for you, please spread the word, share this page and if you can donate to support the cause on the link below that would be really appreciated xxx
