Story
My Dear Wife Suzanne suffered a lot of pain being ill with cancer. The NHS failed to get the pain management right and when Suzanne went into New Cross hospital with an infection, we thought we were going to loose her. She was so poorly it was decided to get her into Compton Hospice.
What can I say from having two weeks left to live she was miraculously coping with the pain and able to return home. On the 20th of May 2025 she came home.
During the next few weeks, she managed to Enjoy her daughter’s birthday.
I wheeled her into Bridgnorth for coffee.
We went to a circus.
She went out for coffee with her sister.
We even visited her daughter in Macclesfield.
She went to a garden Centre with her sister.
We went out for lunch and visited Dunelm shopping.
Culminating with us going to see Billy Ocean in Cardiff.
After having a blood transfusion on the 1st July 2025, it was decided to get her into Severn Hospice on the 3rd. Initially it was to get her pain under control again. But unfortunately, she took a turn for the worst and passed away on the 20th July 2025.
In the end the cancer had just taken over her body. She fought all the way never giving an inch and was always so positive it is a lesson to us all.
Our experience of both hospice’s can only be described as amazing the staff were incredible, they were there at the drop of a hat to attend to your every need.
In memory of my amazing Wife please give generously and try to share donations between the 2 Hospices.
Love John
