Over 7 days in April, I'm going to run 267Km in the unforgiving terrain and heat of the Sahara Desert, carrying an 8 kilo backpack with all my needs for the week. It is a tough run - one of the hardest in the world - but with the amazing team at Batemans I know it will contribute to improving the lives of a lot of youngsters, who had had a difficult start in life.

The Batemans Trust helps young people in Chennai, capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Located on the Coromandel Coast off the Bay of Bengal it is one of the largest cities in South India.

We work with young people who need extra help to make their way educationally in the world, helping them to grow and succeed, both personally and academically. We believe that by helping these children we not only support their progress but enable them to contribute to the success of their community.
