Hospice at Home in the Isle of Man helps to fund specialist nursing staff to provide respite care and end-of-life palliative care for Isle of Man residents with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses who choose to remain at home in their last days.

Story

Conall Hughes from Ramsey Isle of Man was diagnosed in 2015 with bowel cancer, after a difficult fight and much treatment he passed away on the 3rd February 2018 surrounded my his loved ones.

Conall leaves behind widow Claire, Son Ciernan and Daughter Cashlin along with his best friend and brother Ciaran and family. Brother Cathal and Mum Anne.

Conall was a huge sportsman and very competitive in everything he did!

In his memory we have held two Conall Hughes memorial trophy events to raise funds for Hospice at Home, this has been an event open to golfers as well as non golfers, with food, drinks and a raffle, However, for those that cannot attend we thought this would be a great way for you to still be apart of supporting a great cause.

Hospice at Home assisted with Conall’s care at home so he could be where he wanted to be, however due to staffing and funding family and friends also assisted with his care.

As a family we are very passionate that everyone should be cared for at home if that is their wishes and Conall was very fortunate to have friends and family who could do this, but for those not in this position we hope by raising money for hospice at home this will help.

Conall was a much loved man who is sadly missed.

Please donate if you can in his memory and raise money to support Hospice at Home for others battling cancer wishing to stay at home with their loved ones.

The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust (Hospice at Home) was created in 1998 by Don & Ali Westacott to provide Hospice at Home services in the Isle of Man, and funded by the Westacotts for four years. Since then the Trust has continued to fundraise to help provide this valuable service. The Trust receives no Government funding. The aim of the Trust is to provide high-quality nursing care to support the individual patient, the family, their friends, and their carers when the patient has chosen to remain at home.
