Story
Cape Wrath Ultra is a huge undertaking for any runner, let alone an amateur like me. I'm feeling as ready as I can be and yet I'm very nervous about whether I've got what it takes to complete it. Injuries aside, running purely for selfish reasons, for me, didn't just quite feel enough. I need to run for something. For OXPIP I've decided.
I've only recently come to find out about OXPIPs work through a running buddy, but what they do resonates deeply with me. Anyone who knows me knows how much I believe in attachment theory and the importance of early years, self-esteem building secure attachments...no less true of leaders as for parents, teachers, carers.... We need to feel safe and secure to flourish. OXPIP do amazing work to support exactly this and I am genuinely excited to have found a cause I can support which resonates deeply.
I'm hoping the knowledge of what'll be enabled through this little piece of support will help bolster my 'why' and get me through the inevitable challenging moments in Scotland's wilderness at Cape Wrath. Thank you for your support.
