I am going to be taking on the Everest Base Camp Trek in May 2026. This will be two weeks of hiking up to 9 hours each day at altitudes up to 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) for two weeks. This is something I have wanted to do personally for a very long time and after finally getting permission from my wife to leave her with the kids for a few weeks, I booked it. I did think that this would be a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds for a charity that has a particular significance for myself and my family.

My family, like many others across the UK and Ireland have been impacted by suicide. I have personally lost two uncles to suicide and believe that if there had been more help available at that time, they may still be with us today. Northern Ireland in particular has some of the highest suicide rates in the world, particularly amongst young men, which makes the work of PIPS even more important.
