Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving Page.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support we've received. In the last 6 months, we've held a charity event, sold calendars, and shared photos, all in an effort to raise as much money as possible for Ashgate Hospice. This amazing organization cared for my Mum in her last few weeks with us back in December 2013.
To build on the funds already donated, a group of friends and I are gearing up for the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks to further support Ashgate Hospice! The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a demanding but rewarding trek that conquers three of Yorkshire's highest peaks: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. Covering approximately 24 miles (38.6 km), this journey will culminate in a much-deserved pub dinner at the end!
The walk is set for Saturday, May 11th, and by taking on this challenge, we're not only testing our physical endurance but also making a meaningful difference in the lives of those supported by Ashgate Hospice. Any amount you can donate will significantly help the hospice continue their invaluable work.
So far, we've raised over £3,500, with a heartwarming Gala Concert held this past Christmas on the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire.
Ashgate Hospice is in Old Brampton, Chesterfield, and offers a whole range of services to the local community. They provide palliative and end-of-life care, free of charge to people aged 18 and over. While their purpose is to provide care to those with life-limiting illnesses, the Hospice doesn’t only begin their work at the very end of someone’s life. They can help improve quality of life soon after a terminal diagnosis as well as supporting people’s loved ones to ensure they get the practical, emotional and bereavement support they need.
