Miles for Smiles: Connecting for TACT Connect
TACT Connect is raising money for The Adolescent And Children's Trust (TACT)
Story
The Innovation and Business team at TACT are kickstarting our fundraising for Connect with a Miles For Smiles event throughout September and October 2024!
Together, they will travel a staggering 934 miles (the distance from our furthest Connect members in England, Scotland, and Wales), by walking, running, swimming, or cycling.
Their aim is reach their team goal of raising £1,500 to support Connect members and bring smiles to more faces in this very special community!
Our IBO team will, together, push ourselves by connecting communities and hopefully bringing smiles to a few faces! Your support and donations will push us to finish the challenge as quickly as possible - and hopefully ahead of schedule for that extra funding!
Look out for updates as the team shares which towns they have virtually hit along the journey!
What is Connect?
Connect is a free community built exclusively for, and with, TACT care-experienced young people and adults.
It’s both a social space and a resource hub that connects members with each other, opportunities, freebies and discounts, support and guidance, giving our care-experienced community a safe place to return to throughout the journey into adulthood and beyond!
Your donations help Connect to provide a wide range of enrichment opportunities and support to this community-for-life.
We aim to have 6 fundraising events a year, with a total target of raising £12,000 for Connect.
How do these funds make a difference?
☕ £2 provides a hot chocolate pick-me-up in the post to brighten a member’s day
🥰 £7.50 provides a self-care pamper box
🏠 £100 provides a home-starter kit to help a member when setting up their first home
💻 £500 provides a laptop to enable a member to continue education and training
🧳 £750 provides an enriching get-away weekend for one member to try new experiences and have self-development opportunities

UPDATE: We have now completed our first week of the challenge and have travelled 126.6 miles between the team. We have virtually reached the town of Bridgewater and will continue moving up the country on our journey towards Scotland. We have met 98%of our target donations in week one! Thank you for all your generous donations! Given the value Connect offers to our care-experienced community and how much longer we have on this challenge, we are hoping you will continue to support us and push that bit further in raising as much money as possible.
