Story
We are raising funds to support an orphanage, school, and wider community in Zambia by building a multi-purpose hall that will serve as a vital safe space for vulnerable women and girls. In many cases, women facing domestic violence or child marriage have nowhere to turn for safety, support, or privacy. This hall will provide a secure environment where they can seek refuge, access guidance, and begin to rebuild their confidence and well-being.
To highlight the reality many people in this community face, we will be cycling 250km - symbolising the fact that around two-thirds of the population live on just 250 Kwacha per week (roughly £10). This challenge reflects both the distance and the daily hardships endured, and our commitment to standing in solidarity with those we aim to support.
Beyond safety, the space will also be used for education, community gatherings, and support programs, helping to strengthen and uplift the entire community. Our goal is to create not just a building, but a place of hope; a mental and emotional safe haven where individuals feel protected, empowered, and supported in shaping a better future.
