The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing this run to raise money for the national autistic society because of the support they give to people who are affected by this lifelong developmental disability.

The reason I have chosen a charity which supports autism is because I have seen the effects it can have on a family and how understanding and support from friends and family help to make a difference.

My partners younger brother has autism and was diagnosed at the age of 3 1/2. He has struggled with speech, anxiety and social communications and has depended on routines to get him through the day. His father has said that ‘Although life has been hard struggling through life’s challenges for him it has been rewarding at the same time as we will always be by his side with all our love and strength’.

More than one in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and thanks to the National Autistic Society, they are helping to transform lives with the information they provide, creating a better society that works for people with autism.
