Story
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the Vale Ultra Marathon to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre—a charity that carries meaning far deeper than any finish line.
The Vale Ultra Marathon is a 50km run starting at Penarth pier. That 50km will head west along the coast line ending up in Ogmore. Ive completed half marathons in the past, but never anything as far as this!
Cancer is something that touches all of us in one way or another. Sadly, over a year ago I received the news nobody ever wants to hear: my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 malignant melanoma, just weeks after my son was born. Overnight, life changed. But from the moment he stepped into Velindre, the incredible team there began fighting alongside him. He was immediately placed on a treatment plan and entered into the Clinical Trials Unit, where they work tirelessly to discover new ways to battle this disease.
For the last 18 months, my dad has faced every challenge with strength, courage, and determination. He’s still fighting—taking everything in his stride—and Velindre has been there at every step, giving hope not just to him but to families like ours across Wales.
That’s why I’m running.
That’s why I’m asking for your support.
And that’s why this means so much.
My fundraising goal is £2,500, and every penny will help Velindre continue their incredible work—providing care, pioneering research, and giving families like mine more time, more options, and more hope.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world.
Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting, and thank you for helping us fight back against cancer.
Together, we can make a difference.
