Story
Rowing for a Reason
The Consortia Crew is taking to the water for this year’s Clatterbridge Dragon Boat Race on 7th September, and we’re proud to be involved not just as participants, but also as the sponsor of this fantastic event.
Cancer has touched the lives of many people within our business. That’s why we feel so passionately about supporting The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and the incredible work they do every single day. Our goal is simple: to raise vital funds that help change lives.
Why Clatterbridge?
With main treatment centres in Liverpool, Wirral, and Aintree, and satellite clinics across Merseyside and Cheshire, Clatterbridge is delivering care where it’s needed most—right in the heart of the North West, where cancer rates are among the highest in the UK.
Here are just some of the ways Clatterbridge is making a difference:
1. Funding cold cap therapy machines to help reduce hair loss during chemotherapy
2. Providing mental health support for patients and families, especially those with terminal diagnoses
3. Committing £5 million over 5 years to pioneering research into cancer cures and therapies
4. Enhancing the patient experience through arts projects, counselling, and wellbeing initiatives
5. Treating hundreds each day in specialist triage wards, radiotherapy centres, and chemotherapy units
Why We Paddle
Cancer affects 1 in 2 of us, and behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story. Rowing in this race is our way of saying thank you to Clatterbridge, of standing in solidarity with those affected, and of doing our part to ensure this amazing work continues.
Please support our crew and Clatterbridge by making a donation. Every donation large or small, helps fund life-changing research, treatments, and care for people across our region.
Thank you for being part of this with us.
