Story
I'm taking part in the Spartan Deka Strong at the end of March for Autism Early Support.
This is my first event I’ve ever participated in! I’ll be taking part as a pair which will see us completing 10 zones that focus on strength and speed:
1) 15kg reverse lunges x 30
2) 500m row machine
3) 24” box step overs x 20
4) wall ball (6kg ball) sit up/ throw x 25
5) 500m ski machine
6)17.5kg dumbbells farmers carry 100m
7) 25 calories air bike
8) dead ball (17.5kg ball) shoulder/over wall x20
9) sled push/pull 100m (100kg sled)
10) 10kg weighted burpees x20
I’ve been managing a shoulder injury and my partner has a knee injury, so between us we’re hoping to make up a whole person to complete the Deka!
I’m supporting Autism Early Support as I’ve seen and heard firsthand from families how important early support is, and the difference it makes to children and their futures.
Autism Early Support is a children's charity that provides specialist education and support to young autistic children and those with communication, interaction and sensory differences.
Over the last 25 years, Autism Early Support have worked directly with over 900 children. That's literally thousands of hours of specialist support. In that time, the charity have been able to expand their reach, develop their work, and maintain the highest standards, including a 5-time 'Outstanding' rating by Ofsted.
From their very first steps in the nursery back in 2001, to all the lives touched today, every achievement has been made possible by people like you and me.
By taking part in my challenge, I hope to make an even greater difference for children's futures. Please sponsor me to make a difference too.
