A Day to Remember Our Legends

Over the years, our community has sadly lost some incredible people — names that meant the world to us and memories that live on in our hearts every single day.

From much-loved friends like Kev McGivern, Jim Pollick, Garry Murray, Dave Miller Snr, Alex McConnell Snr, Mark Bible, Richie Lawman, Franny Leese — to family, neighbours, teammates and legends of years gone by including Big Alan Murray, Gary & Donald Wilson, Brian Walker, Tommy Kane, Willie Moffat, Paul McCabe, Colin (Gash) McGinlay, Eric McKay, Kevin Shanty Byrne, Malcolm Shanks, Bobby Campbell, Andre Perihenic, Gareth Muir, Danny McDonagh, Garry Faulkner, David, Joe & James McBlain, Franny Malone, Mr Charley Furey Snr, Rab Walls, Billy Kirby, Rab Monteith, Pat Hannigan — and so many more.

This event is about taking a moment — together — to reflect, to celebrate, and to remember all those who have gone before us. Because while they may no longer be with us, their impact and memory live on.

Remembrance Day Event — A Celebration of Lives Lived

⚽ Charity Football Match

- 1st Half: Over 40s – England vs Scotland

- 2nd Half: Under 40s – England vs Scotland

- Memorial Shirts: Every player will wear the name of a departed loved one with pride.

📍 The Evs – Evening Tribute

- A photo reel tribute across all screens

- Live music and entertainment in celebration of our community

- Open mic for stories, memories and personal tributes

- A heartfelt roll call honouring all those we’ve lost

🎗️ While this day is about remembrance first and foremost, we also want to support a cause that helps people who may be struggling. Our chosen charity is ANDYSMANCLUB, who do amazing work in the field of mental health and suicide prevention.

Let’s stand together. Let’s raise a glass, share a story, kick a ball — and remember.

ANDYSMANCLUB is a male suicide prevention charity that facilitates peer to peer support groups across the United Kingdom. Their groups are accessible to any man over 18 and are open every Monday 7pm (except bank holidays).There is no charge to attend a club, we have no referral policy, no waiting lists, no signing in and men can simply turn up (even the cuppa and biscuit are on us).
