Story
Myself and four amazing family members will be taking on an incredible challenge—a charity skydive in Salisbury—to raise money for Abigail’s Footsteps, a charity that provides cold cots to hospitals, hospices, and funeral directors.
This cause is deeply personal to us. On 12/11/2025, our beautiful little boy, Corey Barry Miles, was born sleeping at 35+2 weeks. Thanks to the cold cot provided by Abigail’s Footsteps, that was gifted to honour another angel baby, we were able to spend precious time with Corey—time to hold him, love him, and create lifelong memories that we will cherish forever.
The Abi Cooling Cot is a refrigerated unit that allows families to spend more time with their deceased baby than would otherwise be possible. The cooling cot helps parents to bond with their baby and aids the grieving process. The cooling cot is supplied by Abigail's Footsteps in partnership with The Bond Group . They have delivered cots to over 100 hospitals and hospices in the UK and Ireland so far.
Our goal is to raise at least £6,000 to donate a cold cot to Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton, where Corey was one of five babies at the time who grew their wings too soon. The hospital currently has only three cold cots, one of which is old and temperamental. We also hope to gift another cold cot to Jonathan Terry Funeral Directors, who cared for Corey for two and a half weeks and supported us beyond measure, allowing us to visit him every day for as long as we needed.
If we are lucky enough to go beyond our £6,000 goal, any additional funds will be used to create care packages for mothers who arrive at the hospital without essentials. These packages will provide comfort and support during an unimaginably difficult time.
Every donation, big or small, will help another family in their darkest moments. Please support us in this mission and help us reach our goal. Your kindness will make a world of difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us honour Corey’s memory by support other families who need this gift of time.
