Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On a date TBC in July I will throw myself out of a plane from 15,000 ft (parachute attached hopefully) to help raise funds for a charity close to my heart, Gympanzees.
There are 66,000 children and young people with disabilities within an hour of Bristol and over 1.1 million in the UK. 77% of them cannot access regular leisure facilities, so they cannot play, exercise, or socialise in the same ways as their peers and are twice as likely as non-disabled children to be lonely. This leaves whole families in social isolation, with 72% of parents reporting coping with mental health issues directly resulting from social isolation. Children living with a disability want more understanding and acceptance, more choice of activities, more motivation and encouragement.
This is where Gympanzees come in providing a world-class play, exercise and social facility for children and young people with disabilities right here in Bristol.
I plan on spending some time this summer volunteering with Gympanzees in order to truly understand the impact their work has on our wider community.
Anything you are able to donate will massively help our efforts.
