Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and thanks so much to everyone who has already donated (I've tried to find a way to thank you personally through JustGiving but haven't managed to yet), I really appreciate it!
I'm running a 5k in the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run in part to get me back into fitness after covid, but mainly because it's for a great cause.
The Friends of the Bereaved Families Forum (FBFF) is a UK based organisation that supports the Parents' Circle Families Forum (PCFF), which is made up of 650 Israeli and Palestinian members who have each lost a close family member to the decades of Middle East conflict. Through sharing their pain and loss with one another, they create a deep understanding of each other and in the process, many of the members have forged close friendships. Israeli and Palestinian members also meet with youth (including in schools) and adults and share their personal stories and explain their decision to work through dialogue rather than revenge.
This work really resonates for me as it feels like the only way I can see to peace is through working to acknowledge the heavy cost of the conflict, the pain and loss that the conflict has caused both sides.
