Marcus Christie is raising money for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland
In memory of Joanie

Cork to Portrush · 17 August 2025

Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for NI. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at any time and on average every day one individual finds themselves in need of AANI.

Story

Following mum's tragic accident two years ago, where the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance were called to the scene, I decided to do a number of challenges to help raise money and awareness for this fantastic charity.

In 2023 it was conquering the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. Last year, it was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

For this year, its walking from Cork to Portrush; nearly 400 miles in 15 days carrying the medical bag carried by the Air Ambulance doctors. This is the toughest challenge to date but, if it was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge!

Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated - support to an amazing service we all hope we never need.
