Home to Home 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
On 9th May I’m running home. It's about 130 miles from London to my family home in Cavan, Ireland—with a quick flight from Heathrow to Derry to skip over the Irish Sea.
This isn’t an organised event. It’s definitely long, probably wet, and mostly in the dark, across city streets and dodgy backroads of Northern Ireland, with a high chance of getting lost a few times along the way. In short: a terrible idea.
But this will be my third year doing it; Porthcawl to Cavan in '23 (100miles via Dublin) Porthcawl to Cavan in '24 (111 miles via Belfast) and thanks to your support the last 2 years we raised over £10,000 for homeless charities. So, I’m doing it again.
Every day, on my early morning runs, I see people sleeping rough. It’s a crisis we’ve become too used to, but it’s only getting worse from what i have seen over the years. That’s why I’m raising money for Shelter, a charity helping people off the streets and into homes.
I call the challenge Home to Home and I’m hoping to raise whatever I can for those without one—through Shelter. My last training run will be the London Marathon where I hope to raise a little more to add to the total.
There are a few brave souls joining me on the 9th and 10th of May across London and back in Ireland—if you’re tempted, get in touch. The routes and times are here: https://sites.google.com/view/home-to-home25/home
For an idea of whats involved here is Home to Home '24.
So please support the homeless by donating to Shelter below, and if I'm still alive in May, I'll buy you a pint!
