Story
This September, members of the Cornerstone UK Team (and some of their families) will be embarking on the Thames Path Ultra Challenge, walking a variety of 25km, 50km, or 100km along the Thames Path to raise awareness for individuals and families affected by the loss of a baby.
The Thames Path Challenge is no stroll in the park. It’s a serious test of endurance along one of England’s most iconic trails — starting at Putney Bridge and following the River Thames past royal palaces, historic towns, and beautiful countryside, all the way to Henley-on-Thames. You can find more detail of what we will be putting ourselves through here: https://www.ultrachallenge.com/thames-path-challenge/
We have chosen to raise money for Sands, a charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families, something that we know has affected many people in a multitude of different ways.
The miscarriage and still birth rates in the UK are higher than that of Europe and a significant portion of Sands' funding goes towards research projects aimed at understanding the causes of stillbirth and neonatal death, and ultimately, preventing these tragedies.
This is unfortunately something that affects many women and families and we hope that you can support us with raising money for this incredible cause!
