Hannah and Pauls Cosmic half marathon!

Cleveland 4 Peaks After Dark · 22 March 2024 ·
In recent months we have been trying to get healthier! With the help of lots of walks after the addition of Belle our Springer Spaniel and of course Sierra we have been walking more than ever.
All these efforts have allowed us to lose close to 6 1/2 stone between us!
So we have signed up to walk the length of a half marathon in total darkness. There is apparently a few hills, but the Cumbrian in me thinks they are more like mounds!
March 22nd we set off at dusk and hope to be finished around midnight!
We are walking it for the Great North Air Ambulance Service, a charity which is close to both our hearts.
GNAAS is the only job I have ever truly loved, as part of my role here, every day I speak to and meet incredible people, each with their own unique incredible stories. Most have been threw horrible moments in life but all are fighting to keep the life saving service there for other families. It's inspiring, positive people making positive change and ultimately saving lives.
So what's 13 miles in the scheme of things!
*disclaimer- We have never walked 13 miles, ever! So this is a huge challenge for us both! The training will hopefully see us lose even more weight and allow us to make every day count! 🩷🧡
**ps- I climed Catbells last weekend and in my head I am a pro, the 4 days of aching told my body otherwise!
***pps- we would like to raise £100 a mile between us, which is a huge target, but this is a huge challenge so please dig deep and we can't thank you enough for any support you can give! Every pound truly helps.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year* alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
