Story

Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face.

Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Two years ago, my friend Kel sadly took his own life, leaving behind a daughter who is the same age as my son. Myself and two other dads will be walking 47km as part of the Cotswold Challenge on Sunday June 22nd in memory of him. This challenge is to raise some much needed money for Winston's Wish, who have been supporting his family ever since.

To make this challenge harder, I will be 7 months into recovering from rupturing my Achilles tendon, so there are no guarantees I will be able to complete the full distance.
