Story
As most of you know our little boy Reese was diagnosed with acute Lymphoblastic leukemia in Dec 2023. He's on a 2 year and 2 month treatment plan.
That treatment is being currently carried out at Worcester acute hospital in the Worcestershire and herefordshire paediatric oncology clinic. Unfortunately herefordshire doesn't have a paediatrician oncology so we are lucky enough to visit Worcester for all of Reese's treatment and for all his emergencies.
Myself (Courtney) and Jonathan are running the 10k at Worcester city run 2025 For the Worcestershire and herefordshire cancer fund and Worcester acute hospital.
The fund is used to support families going through the worse possible time in their lives. Their child having cancer. Including and not limited to:
-activity days (paint your own pottery, panto days and other things the children may enjoy)
-bravery box (a box full of treats for the children to have after they have been brave, things such as blood tests, chemotherapy or just a tricky day)
- vouchers for the fresh fruit and veg stand outside the hospital (this helps promote healthy choices after the children have had an appointment)
- holiday parties such as Halloween, Easter and Christmas
- toys used to play with during treatment and visits
All only available due to funding provided by raising money!
Please if you have anything to spare we would be very grateful so those children now and future have these opportunities during a very difficult time.
Also laugh at us because we absolutely do not run 🤣
