Story
We are Coventry Panthers flag American football club, and this year we have chosen to raise money for Birmingham children's hospital charity!
The first event we will be using to fundraise will be our annual flag football tournament, Pantherbowl! This will be hosted on Saturday 28th September 2024 in Coventry. All profits from the day will go to Birmingham children's hospital charity, but why did we choose it?
This charity was chosen by the members of our club because it means a lot to us all, but most notably to our very own women's team QB Alice. Below are some words from her about just how much this charity means:
"As a parent, you will do anything to keep your baby happy, safe and healthy. But when you can’t be the one to make their troubles disappear, you have to put your trust in others. There is nowhere we trust more than Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Knowing our boy enjoys going to hospital makes appointments so much easier. The toys, games and sensory lights that line the corridors, waiting rooms and wards, bring so much joy to our time there.
Should our boy, another Panther Cub, or any child in the area need them, Birmingham Children’s Hospital is there and is a wonderful place to be.
We can’t thank them enough for changing our lives so dramatically for the better 🩵🩷"
So what does this charity do?
Below are a few words from the charity themselves:
"At Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, we believe there’s always more we can do for our sick kids and that’s why we will always strive to do more for our patients and families. It’s our mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use our hospital.
Your support empowers us to take innovative approaches to treating some of the sickest children in the UK. Your fundraising enables us to make our hospital feel just like home. Your donations are helping us to find new ways to treat and cure childhood diseases."
