Story

After 20 odd long years of ballot rejections, I'm delighted and honoured to say that I'll be running the 2027 London Marathon as part of Team Beaumond House 💙

I'm running on behalf of Beaumond House in memory of my Dad.

When my Dad was diagnosed with Cancer in September 2003, he had a tumour round his spine which left him basically paralysed from the waist downwards. Beaumond House were amazing with him, he would regularly go there for daycare which would give my Mum some respite. Whilst at Beaumond House they would give him a bath or shower. He'd have his lunch there, usually with a glass of Beer and would also even get a massage. When we moved into a Bungalow to make Dads life easier, Beaumond House had him stay there for 3 nights just so we could get everything sorted and ready for his return home. They also loaned him a mobility scooter which enabled him to have some freedom and a bit of independance. Unfortunately Dad passed away in August 2004 but Beaumond House certainly helped him live a better life in his final few months.

Everyone in the Newark area almost certainly knows someone who has benefitted from Beaumond House and this is my chance to raise some much needed funds for this vital place in our community.

Every penny counts and i'll be grateful for any donations no matter how big or small.

Keep your eyes peeled for me out and about training. I'll be the one in the brightest, most noticeable gear possible :)

Providing care and support to patients and their families costs Beaumond House around £2.8million every year. This means that around £2.2million of this needs to be raised through donations, our shops, and local businesses throughout Newark and Sherwood.

This year, Beaumond House will receive £555,000 towards the cost of delivering our in-patient, day therapy and wellbeing service and hospice at home commissioned through the End of Life Together Alliance (funded from the Integrated Care System), which contributes to our overall operating costs.

We raise money from a variety of sources, running many campaigns, challenges and events throughout the year. We are exceptionally grateful to all that choose to donate on behalf of Beaumond House.

Without these people and the incredible generosity of the local community, we could not continue to provide the care that we do.
