Craig Brown Cup's fundraiser for Russell Anderson Foundation

Craig Brown Cup is raising money for Russell Anderson Foundation

Craig Brown Cup 2025 · 1 June 2025

Our charity uses sport as a tool to engage the children and to guide them away from any negative effects in their lives. Our goal is for every child to feel positive about themselves and to provide opportunities to enable them to fulfil their potential, regardless of the obstacles they face.

I’m raising money to support the Russell Anderson Foundation so they can make a real difference to the lives of local children and young people.

Formed in 2012, the Russell Anderson Foundation began by delivering free football sessions to children in some of the more socially deprived areas of the city. These days, what RAF does encompasses so much more than just football. The whole ethos of the Foundation is to empower children to make good decisions and give them a chance to reach their potential. RAF works with over 2500 children on a weekly basis across our 13 partner schools in the city and, although a large part of the work remains focused on health and well-being and being physically active, RAF also works with the schools in other areas to improve attainment levels and help with better outcomes for the pupils. This includes practical cooking lessons, food support, workplace visits and employability opportunities to name some of the programmes RAF is currently delivering. I personally feel this is such a worthy cause.

Due to Craig Brown's passing in 2023, it felt right to rename the event the Craig Brown Cup. Craig had been a wonderful support since the first match in 2018 managing the blue team (and winning 3 times out of the 4 matches). He always made time to catch up and go over anything I wanted to discuss, I feel truly honoured to have had his involvement.

The event is not ticketed this year, there will be a raffle and collection buckets on the day so all we ask is that you give what you can please, alternatively you can make a donation on this page. Thank you very much.
