A year ago we lost a brother, a son, an uncle, a nephew, a boyfriend and a friend. We lost a comedian, a world traveller, a kind and gentle soul and someone who could always 'work the room'. We lost someone who should not have been gone so soon. We all lost a light in this world that we will all forever miss. A year ago, he took his own life and we lost Craig Alan Dean.

A year on, the pain is no lighter, the grief is no easier, and the time away from seeing his smile or hearing his laugh is all the more longer. However, in this year, the Northamptonshire based charity We Mind and Kelly Matters has been a huge support system to my family.

The Charity was set up in memory of Kelly who took her own life just before covid, and those that support in the charity are survivors of suicide themselves. The charity holds events, has support groups for survivors and family members, provides free of charge counselling, and they work on projects related to mental health and suicide prevention.

All is made possible through their funding, and therefore, we have decided to give back. Craig's sister Cherie Dean and one of Craig's oldest friends Reece Rance will be taking part in the 15k Tough Mudder event on the 24th of June 2023, in Craig's honour (he always wanted to complete one!).
