Story

Ever heard of Ataxia?

We certainly hadn't!

That was until, as parents of a kid who has suffered with cognitive issues her entire life, our eldest daughter Megan, was finally diagnosed with a form of cerebellar Ataxia!

Ataxia is a condition that has eaten away at Megan's abilities throughout her life, progressively taking its toll more and more as she gets older and is responsible for her currently being hospitalised as I write this.

Megan, from a very young age, despite never having had the same physical ability as that of her peers, had always had a drive and enthusiasm for sport and taking on physical challenges that knew no bounds!

Until now, that is!

In recent years, Megan has deteriorated rapidly!

That deterioration has taken its toll, not only physically, but mentally as well, and , if we as her parents couldn't and still since her diagnosis, don't understand what was causing it, or why, I'm sure you can imagine how hard it is for her to as well?

There's a saying we have recently learned, that saying goes,

"Ataxia, may be the most serious condition, you've never heard of!"

For Megan, and for us as her family, there's never been a truer word spoken and that really shouldn't be the case!

That can't be fair on those who suffer from Ataxia!

That's why, we as her parents, have decided that more awareness needs to be raised , more needs to be learned and shared about what is a truly awful neurodegenerative condition that affects the people who suffer from it and families so badly!

With that in mind, in a bid to raise awareness as well as funds for one of the few Ataxia charities out there, we have decided to take the plunge! literally!

We are both planning to take part in a skydive action day for Ataxia UK, jumping from around 14k feet and we're asking for your help!

Please, if possible, give anything you can and or share our fundraiser. Help us raise some very much need funds, that could one day help those going through the same learning process that Megan and the rest of us are going through now.

If your able to donate, we can't thank you enough!

If you're only able to share Megan's story, we can't thank you enough, and, If at the end of reading this, you're unable to do either of the things previously mentioned, we still can't thank you enough!

By reading this far, you have helped us achieve our ultimate goal, you have helped us make more people aware of Ataxia and of the struggles that sufferers face!

For that we thank you all.
